Virtual Reality

VR in Education

Virtual Reality is in its infancy, but it’s potential for impacting education is huge!  Right now it can transport students to visit places, people, and even worlds that budgetary constraints (and, in some cases, a lack of oxygen) make it impossible to travel.  One day, it might allow students to have virtual internships in hospitals and boardrooms, practice a skill, or visualize a design that’s still a work-in-progress.  There’s already some great content out there.  And in our VR workshops, I’ll show you how easy it is to create a huge impact with simple tools and amazing websites.  I’ll even share tools that your students can use to create their own content.

What You Learn:

Cardboard-Compatible VR Apps

Explore some of the amazing Cardboard-compatible VR Apps that are on the educational market (mostly for free).  Discover adventures just waiting for your students to take.

No Viewer, No Problem

If you don’t have viewers, no problem.  There are lots of amazing 360 & VR options that can be visited and explored from a computer or tablet.  Don’t worry, I got ya covered!

Content Creation

Visiting the worlds created by someone else is cool, but making your own is amazing.  I’ll show you some of the apps and tools available to your students so they can start crafting and creating.

Below: Participants in my ISTE workshop capture their own 360 images.
